Nancy Mace sponsored a bill in the House that would require the deportation/prevent emigration of any foreigner convicted of a sex crime. It passed but 158 Democrats voted to let in sex crime criminals and allow those criminals already here, to avoid deportation. 158 democrats who are 100% sure of the character of the democratic party base. How do you spell Democrat? D e v i a n t.
I just read the text of the bill. Unless I'm missing something in minutia, it looks clean to me, unless there are some situations I don't "understand."
As much as it PAINS ME to support a bill with Mace, Boebert, and Biggs as sponsors (I think all three are assholes)....I'm not seeing why this wouldn't get greater bipartisan support.
I'm not on the demonizing the immigrant class train (Springfield), but I don't find anything wrong with tossing folks who have messed up.
Let's talk about this one. Why would this legislation be coming up 7 weeks before an election? And why is Mace pushing the focus on a subset of victims of violent crime - women ?
There seems to be one obvious answer: POLITICAL STUNT. A stunt to get headlines and influence low information voters, especially with a demographic that isn't doing too well with Trump - women.
If these illegal immigrant criminals (whose numbers btw are small) - were allowed to commit these crimes and roam freely, then the bill would make more sense. But there are already laws on the books for people who commit these crimes.
So why is this bill necessary, other than for political purposes ?
Except the Senate immigration bill wasn't purely political, it would have added more than 1,500 new Customs and Border Protection personnel, an additional 4,300 Asylum Officers, an additional 100 immigration judges, and the installation of 100 inspection machines to help detect fentanyl, among other provisions. Provisions that would have real impact on border security efforts.
As we all know, Trump got the Senate immigration bill squashed to help him in the election.
Mace's bill seems mostly if not entirely political.
^ It would have codified an entry level several times what Obama's own secretary of homeland security said was an "emergency," and was only even put forth in an election year after 3 years of neglect.
Now again, are politically motivated bills OK or not? Can't have it both ways.
Politically motivated bills are a waste of everyone's time, if they don't also have an actual, tangible benefit or purpose.
The Senate immigration bill was widely hailed as one of the strongest border security bills in decades. It was supported by 18,000 Border Patrol agents who had opposed Biden’s border policies since day one, but who strongly supported this bill and urged Congress to quickly pass it.
But, Trump killed it to help him in the election. Instead, all we got from Republicans is this political stunt from Nancy Mace.
Looks like PT couldn't defend this bill on substance, only claim it's OK because Dems did a politically motivated bill too. And make a laughable comparison with the Senate immigration bill, which while one might argue was timed politically, has substantive provisions to improve border security.
Anyone else have an argument why Nancy Mace's bill was needed, when we already have laws on the books for this stuff ?
^ Look, I know Democrats want to flood the electorate with illegals, but I didn't know you were willing to keep sex criminals in America to do so. Ipso facto deporting them is a good thing. Preferably to North Korea.
Glad you admit the Senate immigration bill was "timed politically," when for 3+ years Democrats have been flooding the country with illegals, but we'll have to disagree that codifying the number of permissible illegal entrants at an unacceptably high level is "substantively improving" anything.
^ If you think unicorns are real and work in the Vatican, then you would believe that progressives have common sense. No one coming here illegally should ever be allowed to stay, return or apply for citizenship All immigrants should have a financial sponsor who supports them for 5 years, and no eligibility for any government benefits for the first five years. If this makes iceberg lettuce cost $10.00 a head, that's fine, its worthless nutrionally.
^ Deporting illegals is a moot point. Logistically impossible. Just fine anyone employing illegals $5,000 per person per day. Prosecute anyone who coaches illegals to lie about being refugees for suborning perjury and racketeering.
^^All we need is a law making the harboring, employing, renting to, assisting financially of illegals a felony and they'd all be gone in a month. Aiding and abetting a crime is already illegal so there is precedent.
Wikd4testes is just showing more liberal hypocrisy. Let's not forget that the terrible senate bill to legalize illegal immigration was timed for the midterm elections. It did nothing to stop illegal immigration and the border invasion, but it did set an allowable number of illegal immigrants, which is the same as saying you can break the law this many times. Mace's bill is purely predicated on expediting the deportation of any illegal immigrant who commits a sex crime. Even a shill like wild4testes should agree with that bill.
^ LMK if you need more documentation I can send you from many different sources, including WAPO, OAN, The NY Post, The N. Y. Times, Fox News Corp. Really TDS, that’s crazy.
^ Weirdo I know loser unless you hear it from Tucker Carlson, and confirm it with the voices in your head, it doesn't exist, we all understand, meanwhile seek help.
And, since all you do it make ignorant comments, attack other posters, and derail threads; I will steer you back to the OP's point. This is not an anti-immigration bill, this is a public safety bill which would remove sexual predators who should not be in our country to start with. Oh, but don't let the safety of women and children get in the way of your Social Justice Warrior act. It is okay for people to be woke if a few women get raped along the way.
Weirdo I’m not defending illegal immigration, I’m just stating the obvious, after all your handpicked political candidate has been riling up the country and promising to deport millions of people who are here becauseof him and others like him, meanwhile he’s been among those grifters who use every opportunity to steal from ordinary Americans and I know for a fact, that most of those workers who work at the golf courses are not here legally. No matter how much you love his ass, calling me names doesn’t make it any less true. BTW your stupid link has zero relevance to the conversation, I’m not denying that we need a better means of allowing folks into our country, I’m all for a monitoring system that works to ensure that we don’t have undesirable outcomes, but your argument doesn’t hold water. Like I said earlier Trump is the problem, not the solution.
handpicked political candidate: Factually false. Trump was 100% elected by voters in Republican primaries. Your candidate, Kamala, was handpicked and not chosen by democrat party voters.
people who are here becauseof him and others like him: Factually false. It has been Obama and Biden who refused to enforce the border and deport illegals.
among those grifters who use every opportunity to steal from ordinary Americans: Probably false. Where's your proof? What's your warrant? Do you have any evidence? Back it up or shut up.
I know for a fact, that most of those workers who work at the golf courses are not here legally. Probably false, and even so, you made the accusation at Mar-a-Lago. Where's your proof? What's your warrant? Do you have any evidence? Back it up or shut up.
calling me names doesn’t make it any less true: Factually false. I have not called you names and everything you said is untrue or unsubstantiated.
your stupid link has zero relevance to the conversation: Factually false. My link is to the bill in the title of the conversation. How fucking demented are you?
Trump is the problem, not the solution: Factually false. On his first day in office, Brandon signed over 100 executive orders effectively undoing ever national security achievement made by Trump in his first time. Chiefly among these were undoing all of the immigration protections which dropped illegal immigration to the lowest numbers in decades and swelled it to the worst in history.
We can add this to all the things you have been wrong about: NATO policies, Ukraine Security Agreements, Ulaanbaatar, the Dunning-Kruger effect, Abe Lincoln v PT Barnum v Mark Twain, etc. You have made so many stupid, false, ignorant historical statements that could easily be researched with the computer in your hand that I have lost count of them. How much more time are you going to spend proving to us that you are the dumbest son of a bitch on this board? Now I have called you a name, or more accurately, I have held up a mirror for you to see yourself the way we all see you.
You don't need to. You're the idiot loser who cannot make an honest statement or have a real debate. I don't feel sorry for you, though, you are clearly a bastard who deserves all the pain and suffering that comes his way.
True but 25 suckered him into the last inane exchange by stating that illegal aliens fucking up this country was because of Trump because the democrats are 100% responsible for the flood of criminals coming in. So far, we're lucky that they are just fucking up democrat run cities but look out when they come to real America.
^ Nope he suckered himself into that I just put out the truth and wasn’t even talking about him My original comment is fact, Trump uses illegal labor at all of his properties he maintains deniability by hiring a contractor to run the labor through and here in Florida he doesn’t have to use e-verify I know the owner of the staffing company personally, we’ve even golfed the Jupiter course together
End of the day. They need the votes. Them staying in power is way way way more important than innocent women getting brutally gang raped. Collateral damage is all it is for a necessary goal.
Here's what one newspaper in Mace's home state of South Carolina thought about her political stunt.

At first, we thought it was a satirical story in the Onion.
But then we looked again and realized it wasn’t a parody. Instead, the “Violence Against Women By Illegal Aliens Act” is an actual bill in the U.S. House of Representatives. And it is authored by our very own U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C.
@Puddy Tat, deport the Mals not the Cuban strippers Or give them (strippers) 6 months to learn English and if they’re passable then they can stay. The ones not making an effort to learn English but still want stripper money they can be deported Give me a 25 yo Cuban stripper who is 34-22-34 who can actually converse with me (and not a Rob) and I’m in heaven
Yeah this is a site about strip clubs that is populated by strip club customers but It appears from that comment that to you strip clubs take priority over everything else in this country. I see clubs as a break or diversion from everyday life, I can take them or leave them. You do you but IMO there are many more important things in the big picture of how this country is led and the current course it's on.
^^Sox I don't judge America by strip clubs. Strip clubs are a bar with naked women you can fondle. If they ceased to exist, I would probably drink less beer and drink more expensive wine as my new hobby. To me real America is the flyover states and fake, fraudulent, asshole, pompous know-it-all America is both coasts, including where I live. As far as good clubs? I like just about all I have been to. Some for beautiful women, some for-value lap dances, some for extras. It's no different than liking steak, seafood and veggies. Where I strip club by choice is Providence, South Florida, and Maine. When I travel I will go to clubs in Utah (yup shitty contact but just great looking dancers), New York, North Carolina and if I ski in the south this year, which I would like to do before I am physically unable to ski the terrain I love so much, West Virginia.

I say leave the females 18-35 convicted of solicitation in the US, deport everyone else

One could say the same about the immigration bill from earlier this year after Biden/Harris ignored or worsened the problem for 3+ years.
Are bills for political purposes OK? Or only when one side does it?

Could have stopped there.
I guarantee Trump would (and has) controlled the border more than Kamala "Root Causes" (LOL!) Harris.
