I wonder if they didn't have second strings back then. Don't they let the second string play normally in this sort of situation? I gets they didn't organize into conferences with schools with similar football budgets.

Heisman was a vindictive prick. Cumberland cheated to beat his baseball team. Imagine the score if the ref's didn't shorten the game to 45 minutes.

College sports were much different back then. I am pretty sure that you did not really need to be enrolled to play. Colleges and Pros played each other. Equipment sucked and guys beat the crap out of each other.

Lomax didn't score all the points - the coach sent in his sub who kept on scoring. To me, this game was more impressive than the 1916 game!
