If "streets are for people not just cars" as some politicians say, then oes it follw that sidewalks are for cars not just people? 🤔

And to those of you who will say "this is reasonable common sense" and "it says only "when its safe to do so,"" how do we define "safe"? What if there is a blind spot up the street, what if someone suddenly pulls out onto the street from an alley or driveway, what if someone is speeding? How does a pedestrian honestly gage the speed of oncoming cars? What about pedestrians deliberately walking in front of cars or teenagers who are now emboldened to play chicken? They will be emboldened to interfere with drivers.

Were laws against jaywalking just pulled out of someone's ass 100 years ago for no reason?

I think San Francisco did that a long time ago, thinking it would reduce pedestrian deaths.

It had the opposite effect.
