Well, now we know why they refused to release the names of the alleged ISIS-K operatives they claimed they hit. This administration exudes incompetence in everything it does.

Bad things happen ALL THE TIME in war. It's the nature of war.
I support your inalienable right to have any opinion you have about the current administration, but I for one am glad that the US involvement in the tragedies of this war (on our dime) are ending (for us anyway, would suck to be Afgan).
I think we should have left once we got Bin Laden - but at least this admin left.
My 2 cents.
Furthermore, it is the height of hypocrisy for people who objected to the elimination of terror leader Soleimani, to approve of this attack in Kabul. Soleimani was more directly responsible for many more American deaths than ISIS-K,

Much better now! Here is your baba back! Sweet dreams!
Does anyone believe there is a new and improved - Kinder and Gentler Taliban?
Sadly, we lost many American lives, and there are many American soldiers who are permanently and severely disabled due to the horrible IED’s used in these recent wars.
If we pulled out after killing Bin Laden - that may have been the right time.
Sadly, the pull out appeared horribly botched and rushed. I can’t believe anyone thought the puppet government would stand up against a strong wind!
The tough part is getting out. Never goes smoothly and seems like a huge waste of money and lives when it’s all done.
I’m glad we’re out of Afghanistan, but I agree the exit strategy seemed botched - probably because of the 9/11 deadline.
Absolutely agree with this that’s why we need to bring back the draft, that would make it much harder to go to war, everyone would have skin in the game, and there wouldn’t be a military class like what’s happened since we ended the draft in 1973
We wouldn’t need to draft everyone, just a small percentage by lottery, but that possibility would be enough to deter unnecessary military debacles and “world police” B.S.
The US did significantly better than the Russians. The US was actually still in a good position with the upper hand but we threw it away.
According to wikipedia, in less than 10 years the official Soviet number of killed was 14,000.
In 20 years the US lost 2,300 plus another similar amount in contractors. In the last few years I don't think there were any KIA and 20 or so related deaths per year while the cost of the war had lessened since the height of the Obama years.
