Classic stripper songs

Every dancer’s favorite- cause they told me so
I feel like this has been discussed many times but not recently and not much else to talk about that won’t get political.

What are your favorite songs for the dj to play at the club? Pretty sure this will vary greatly across age groups (and particularly interested in what dancers who post here would say).

My top 3 (and I am early 50’s)
Pour Some Sugar On Me by Def Leppard
Cherry Pie by Warrant
Girls Girls Girls by Motley Crue

The Stripper - David Rose

OK, I’m old. And this song doesn’t really work with contemporary dance styles. It makes me think of the old stereotype sleazy back alley clubs.

Want to hear: Girls, Girls, Girls; You shook me all night long; Cherry Pie etc.

Will likely hear: Whatever the current rap or R+B hitlist contains. Which means nothing I have ever heard of.

Reminds me of my vasectomy.
Doctor wanted to listen to music, nurse decided on 80's tunes.
And on came Aerosmith... Dude Looks Like a Lady, while he's snipping the tubes.

Surprising none of Juice’s rap songs didn’t make the cut. He was spitting some lyrics a few years back.

Its been a while since music and on stage dancing factored into my experience. Its usually just background noise when Im talking to a fav and if she's hot enough I dont care if its rap, rock, latin, or EDM.
Looking at videos like these make me wonder what going to a bar with some Def Leopard playing would be like. However, I doubt any of these girls would be ok with me LDK'n

So a few years ago in 2017 we had a discussion about which songs to put into a Strip Club Music Hall of Fame. Good chat, had a decent list to vote on, but believe it or not with all the opinions TUSCLers like to throw around on a daily basis there weren't enough votes to put together a short list.

Discussion and Article threads:
https://tuscl.net/discussion.php?id=4934…
https://tuscl.net/article.php?id=49523

I never posted what my votes were for the first round. Here they are/were:
- Pornstar Dancing, My Darkest Days
- You Shook Me All Night Long, AC/DC
- I'm 'n Luv (Wit a Stripper), T-Pain feat. Mike Jones
- Bad Girlfriend, Theory of a Deadman
- Lollipop, Lil Wayne
- Closer, Nine Inch Nails
- Beautiful People, Marilyn Manson
- Shakin Hands, Nickelback
- Girls Girls Girls, Motley Crue
- Pour Some Sugar on Me, Def Leppard

I'm surprised no one mentioned these yet, but Crazy Bitch by Buckcherry and My Neck, My Back (Lick It) by Khia are definitely stripper songs...

I went back and looked. Didn't see too many hip hop songs. Maybe it's the clubs I go to, but most of them play hip hop primarily even if it's mostly white and Latina girls in there.

One song I'll name that I didn't see in those old threads, "Taste" by Tyga. When it came out in 2018 I heard it every. single. time I set foot in a club for that entire year.

Here's a list for TFP. I wouldn't change my Top 10 list, but with the help of too much time on my hands and Shazam here are some songs I've heard in clubs this year. Plenty of hip hop. The song either caught my attention or the dancer on stage when it was playing was really killing it. Maybe not classics, but recently played in a club near me.

- The Box, Roddy Rich
- Culpables, Karol G and Anuel A
- Flashing Lights, Kanye West
- Mouth (The Stingray Mix), Bush
- Pain, Three Days Grace
- Side to Side, Ariana Grande
- Space Cadet, Metro Boomin
- Sucker for Pain, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, and Imagine Dragons
- Taki Taki, DJ Snake
- When We, Tank
- Wonderful, Travis Scott

These songs were heard in clubs where dancers can pick their own music at the DJ booth. Yes, a couple of these might be favs of the resident Cuban dancers. I also threw in a plain old rock song so the sensitive wouldn't feel marginalized.

I hear "I am in love with a Stripper," quite a lot. One that was popular a while back was Darling Nikki by Prince. Thankfully "Touch me," by Samantha Fox is not popular anymore, for a while in the 90's I would hear that in almost every club.

I few I wish that dancers would retire are:
Save a horse, ride a cowboy
Pony
Candy Shop

Here are a few that I think make good stripper songs for one reason or another.
Porn Star Dancing
Bad Girlfriend
Sex on Fire
Thunder Kiss 65
Don Cha
Bootyliscous
Hot in Herre

And the very common Review songs of
Girls, Girls, Girls
Oh, Yeah
Cherry Pie

Nice thread bump, only 4 years! Since we’re on this topic again, I’ve been really liking a lot of the newish girl rockers out there. I like female vocals anyway, and when they can also rip a bluesey lead on the guitar, I like them even more! Lizzie Hale and Halestorm comes to mind, lots of their stuff makes great LD music. The Pretty Reckless, Ava Popovic, Grace Potter, Dua Lipa, Joss Stone, Lana del Rey, Samantha Fish, JoAnne Shaw Taylor, and many many more hot female artists out there. I wish club DJs played more of their stuff.

I flash back to my 90s hobby hey day whenever I hear Alice In Chains “Man in the Box” on the radio.
I get chubbed-up thinking of those young, skinny, pale, tatted-up (not as common back then) white dancers who drove me nuts, moving languidly to that song at the Philly clubs - especially Cheerleaders.
