This sucks for the student athletes who practiced and played all season to get a bid into the tournament. It is not yet official, but WWE Wrestlemania will likely be cancelled too.
@Sinclair
Agree, getting frequent alerts from local paper about CORVID-19 consequences including players lamenting lost playing opportunities.
With prevailing tension and fears surrounding the virus any lost opportunities for diversion, even by remote viewing only adds to the misery.
I keep thinking - if they close the office - at least I can work from home - and catch the NCAA tournament while I work. Then I remember - itâs not happening.
Then I think - at least thereâs sports center. But thatâs gonna be useless too.
I think the only things that haven't been cancelled are NASCAR and UFC. As far as WrestleMania, I think neither Vince nor Tampa wants to be the one to cancel it but that Tampa will if Vince doesn't within the week they essentially gave him.
Been occupied so many of you may already know this:
"No March Madness: NCAA cancels all winter and spring tournaments, including basketball
The college basketball season ended on Thursday, a month before the national championship games were scheduled to be played.
The NCAA canceled its menâs and womenâs tournaments, issuing this statement:
âToday, NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors canceled the Division I menâs and womenâs 2020 basketball tournaments, as well as all remaining winter and spring championships.
âThis decision is based on the evolving COVID-19 public health threat, our ability to ensure the events do not contribute to spread of the pandemic, and the impracticality of hosting such events at any time this academic year given ongoing decisions by other entities.â
The menâs Final Four was scheduled for Atlanta and the womenâs Final Four in New Orleans. Among the eight menâs first-and second-round regional sites were St. Louis and Omaha, Nebraska.
With winter and spring sports off the calendar, there will be no championships for wrestling, ice hockey, track and field, the College World Series for baseball in Omaha and Womenâs College World Series for softball in Oklahoma City.
The cancellation also includes Division II events, including regional tournaments scheduled to start Friday for menâs basketball at Northwest Missouri State, the defending national champion, and womenâs basketball at the University of Central Missouri.
But the biggest showcase event in NCAA sports is March Madness, played every year since 1939.
As Warrior alluded to, I want to see how ESPN fills all this airtime they're about to have...and it better not all be First Take an Get Up, like it is today.
I like watching sports documentaries - I'll probably catch-up on some of the ESPN 30-for-30 docs that I have not watched (there are about 80 in total) - they're viewable via ESPN+, but perhaps via regular ESPN website also?
I recently watched a Netflix Formula-1 special where they go thru the 2018, and 2019 season (each season is 6 episodes) - it was good if one is into that.
A while back I also watched a doc on Moto-GP which was very good -I don't recall what service it was may have been NetFlix.

Sounds like a long shot to me.
