The media is missing the most important fact in New Ham[shire and that is voter turnout. The turnout in the Democratic primary in 2020 was the same as 2016, so where is the anti Trump fervor? The Republicans hada primary as well, desp[ite the fact that Trump has no opposition and the fake news sources called mainstream press don't cover it. Despite theforegoing 120,000 people turned ouit to vote in the Republican primary. Why is that significant? No sitting President has been able to draw that number in 40+ years.

@skibum, what a lot of people miss is that 2016 Trump had neither the analytics nor the ground game 2020 Trump has. Anyone trying to re-fight the last campaign is a fool.

That was a midterm election, in line with what happens when one party holds the White House, House, and Senate.

Never count on a repeat of the midterms, look at Obama 2010 vs 2012.

Obama is when Right Wing Nonsense News really went into high gear.

That kind of stuff will work to a point.

But now, the whole country sees Trump's character. 55% of Republicans wanted witnesses. 75% of Independents wanted witnesses. 95% of Democrats wanted witnesses, and 75% of the entire electorate wanted witnesses.

At this point in time, Trump could probably eat a live baby on live TV and trumpeters would simply say "Hehehe, I bet liberal heads are gonna explode when they see this."

Every expression of hate against Trump just helps him with his base, and almost the entirety of the left's position is "not trump".

Pretty much the only hope the left has is for trump to die the day before the election.

Yes, Trump could do anything and not lose his base. There has been that kind of a contingent in the US for a long time, like in the John Birch Society, and in White Male Libertarians who live for the Stock Market.

But eyes are opening. Democrats tried to take the White House with Mike Dukakis in '88. Failed badly.

But with Bill Clinton and with people angry about the real economy, won easily.

My take is Bernie has little to no chance of defeating Trump in a 2020 general election. I remember one of my brothers in law, shortly post-2016 election, contending if Dems had nominated Bernie instead of Hilary, Bernie would've won in 2016. No way. And ain't gonna happen in 2020 either.
