Strip clubs are getting a high tech overhaul, but will it be enough to save them

Detroit strip clubs
"While most of the erotic world has hurdled into the future in recent years — with innovations like smart toys, virtual reality porn, and even high-tech condoms — one type of adult business has remained resistant to change: the strip club."

Interesting read. When I look music, in particular rock and roll, there is just nothing better than live music. No matter what technology you just can’t beat being there. Same goes for strip clubs imo.

Maybe our little digital community of mongers isn't representative, but the vast majority of us here are into this for the thrill of the hunt and the optimism of getting an unexpected high level of service in our experience. I don't see how a VR or other digital encounter could ever match that.

Vr is simply fake bullshit and not a real experience. The people who want VR, don't want live interaction with human beings and those who want live interaction with human beings, don't want VR. The article was asinine since most of the strip clubs I have been to are on FB and do have web pages. I see very little neon and with tats and the influx of foreign dancers none of today';s strip club experiences are similar to the 80's. With 34 years of going to the Inner Room I can attest that the bar stage and benches are the same, except for the two columns with floating blobs being gone, but the dancers ahve changed incredibly to the point where its not similar at all.

Interesting mention of crypto. I know Palazio in Austin has a Bitcoin ATM, but that’s the only thing I’ve seen.

Social media presence is already super important at urban clubs, and I think as time goes on, it will become ever more important at gentlemen’s clubs too...

I may lack imagination and vision, but I've just never figured out a way technology might make my experience better. It could be used to do things I don't care about (e.g., VR), or do things that actually make my club experience worse (e.g., reserving a stripper). The changes that appeal to millennials and gen-z -- e.g., make it more of a party with eroticism, rather than focus on eroticism -- is diametrically opposed to what I'm looking for. On the other hand, with genz's and millennials avoiding the clubs in droves, I understand the need for change. For me, this change will just drive me more towards arrangements

And the reason they are hard to change is because Front Room Makeout Sessions and FS-ITC are awesome.

You get to have the girl you picked, dressed and painted up as she was when you first spotted her.

Nothing can substitute for this. It is because the girl does not have to yield. She is not a robot.

A robot does what it is programmed to do. But as it is no a living thing it will never be the same.

So no, nothing will replace that See, Want, Get aspect of strip clubs.
