Someone posted this in the Unpublished reviews - it was a raid of Baby Dolls in Paterson, NJ Go-Go Bar Owner, Dancers, Bartending Wife Busted In Paterson Prostitution Raid Undercover vice squad detectives who raided a Paterson go-go bar found a dancer giving a patron oral sex in a lap dance booth, authorities said. They arrested the owner, 62-year-old Thomas P. Humphrey of Riverdale, and his wife, Luciana, 45, along with four dancers, two bartenders and a security guard in the raid at Baby Dolls on Market Street, Police Director Jerry Speziale said Wednesday. They also captured a fugitive wanted out of New York City and seized $6,679 in cash from the thriving business, Speziale said. “Various complaints” about prostitution and drug dealing brought police to the Baby Dolls, where dancers propositioned patrons, then kicked back a portion of the proceeds to a manager or bartender, the director said. Undercover detectives who entered the establishment immediately were propositioned by several dancers to pay for sex, he said. Humphrey had $1,765 in illegal proceeds seized from him, while his wife, bartender Luciana Humphrey, 45, had $3,210 seized from her, Speziale said. Both were charged with maintaining a house of prostitution, the director said. So were security guard Thomas Baldwin, 38, of Hackensack, and bartender Luz Pastrana, 61, of Belleville, he said. Arrested on prostitution charges were three dancers from the Bronx: Ruth Hernandez, 19, who had $1,064 seized; Rafelina Perez, 34, who had $389 taken; Emma Diaz, who had $191 seized. A fourth dancer charged with prostitution, Argentina Diaz-Devicioso, 49, of Utica, NY, had $60 taken, Speziale said. All were released pending court hearings. The fugitive from justice was identified as Lamont Moody, 42, who lives in the Alphabet City section of Manhattan. He was taken to the Passaic County Jail pending possible extradition proceedings. LOL - the youngest of the dancers was killing-it based on the amount of $$$ seized from her - the oldest had the least $ seized from her

That's also the first thing I noticed. When she claims she makes a G a night she ain't kidding. She was probably the freshest looking girl in there. I'm sure she'll be out soon and back at it again. Where else can a 19 year old make $1000 per night? She'll just be more cautious about feeling the customer out first before she offers her services.

"... “Various complaints” about prostitution and drug dealing brought police to the Baby Dolls ..." Didn't see any mention of a drug deal having gone down in this super-important raid obviously needed to stop consenting adults from giving and receiving head.

Thanks for letting us know. I still don't see how that can be a clean prostitution bust. They are trying to clean up the town to bring in gentrification. Jersey City, Hoboken and other nearby cities have brought in people and businesses that need or want to be near Manhattan but can't afford to be there. the clubs in more industrial areas are being left alone. At least for now

^^^ So then the next question is, are the politico's doing this Republicans or Democrats? Probably they are all just Neo-Liberals. Our San Jose Mayor, Sam Liccardo, supposedly a Democrat ,he is really a Neo-Liberal. He rails against street prostitution and is totally opposed to strip clubs and AMPs. SJG

@K Does sound that way - certain interests being at play and clubs being seen as "being in the way" of those interests

^^^^^ That's the way it has always been where I live. It amounts to trying to use ordinances and cops to run the poor or non-compliant, out of town. serious fireworks to get that SR open in San Jose, formerly San Jose Gold Club, much opposition to it. People said on Neighborhoods groups that it would cause street prostition, like these SG's would be the back up to satisfy the desires aroused inside of the strip club. They want to outlaw sexual desire. These people are really reactionary, no matter which political party they go with. That SR is in the central downtown commerical district. But people in residences 10 blocks away were vocal in opposing it, as was Sam Liccardo. SJG

Sad, but true. K is right. Paterson is one of the last bastions of free trade in NNJ. I stay out of the downtown part of Paterson, mostly because I can get what I want in the industrial areas. I doubt that Paterson will gentrify. But that won’t stop them from dumping hundreds of millions in the filthy downtown.

What about fighting the real crime - Robbery, rape, theft, murder.....etc.....etc..... Cities after cities ignoring real crimes.

Solving a rape or murder reminds the public of the crime rate. Busting a consensual sex acts allows everyone else to feel morally superior and LE can pretend to be doing their job.

People really believe that they are protecting a neighborhood. On the neighborhoods groups they post pictures they have taken of street hookers. And these are women who are already just barely marginal. But people keep on it until the cops just bust them without evidence. SJG

Just read the first dozen reviews listed for this club. About half mention extras.....some very explicitly. What do you expect to happen?

Considering the issues facing Paterson - extras in a strip club should be pretty far down the list.

No wonder why we have so much crime (murders, rapes, robbery, etc....) compared to Europe and many other countries. Our resources are being used to fight the useless morality, not the real crimes.

Men wearing Costumes to terrorize consenting adults. And those who wear the costumes wonder why we don’t respect them. It takes a real man to go after true crime. It takes a clown to put on a costume to take down a non threat. But, that clown in the costume requires a gun and backup to take out the non threat.

I would think often times the cops are just used as the muscle - a lot of these raids seems are often politician-driven having various agendas
  • Jascoi

certainly muscle. and they ALL have a vested interest in restricting laws. control and bribery.

Check the murder rate in Baltimore. Bet the arrests of hos and johns are thru the roof compared to them putting the cuffs on the murderers. Then the judicial system put them few redrum mos right back on the street lickety-split. Go figure.
