Review Reject or Approve.

After looking at some approved, I wonder how many that reject or approve even know the guidelines? As it states:

"Content and length are the two most important factors to consider.
Be wordy. Fill the review box. One or two sentence reviews aren't helpful to anyone.
Give a LOT of details in your review (club layout, atmosphere, dance quality, etc.).
Your review should be at least 4 solid paragraphs, with 4-7 sentences each."

I didn't quote the "cost" part, but I see many approved that barely have 4-7 SENTENCES!

Club I have sent you two PMs regarding this you have ignored both of them I read the guidelines quite well, sometimes the guidelines just don’t work yet there is a legitimate reason for the review you need to examine each review and consider it on merit, not evaluate it based on whether it fits a narrow definition.

Clubber: Guidelines are just that: guidelines. They are not a required template. If Founder wanted a required template, he could have easily made the entire review section drop down menus.

Sometimes very short reviews are helpful, such as a confirmed closed club. Or a short review of a club that’s dead at a particular day or time, e.g. Thee Officers Club, review I wrote the other day that I noticed you “no” votes.

Based on the voting patterns, it seems most reviewers value content over length.

Yeah - it's not all about size but how you use it

My bottom line for writing and reviewing a review is whether it contributes useful information for both new people and those that are regulars who need some intel on new dancers, follow up on recent info from other reviews, etc.

I agree with doctorevil. The guideline are just that. If a guy gives great detail on dances and dancers, mentions cover charges, the crowd, the mix of dancers, etc., I don't anyone needs to call him out because he did not say how much he paid for beer or where the stage is located in the room. It's not like getting an essay graded in high school. -2 for not mentioning beer price. -5 for not describing club layout. -3 for not mentioning parking fee. Final grade: 90.

I looked back at the 4-5 reviews Clubber wrote in the last 3+ years. They are useful information and a positive contribution, but they don't meet all these guidelines either :-)

The closer a review is to the guidelines IMO usually the better/more-informative it is.

Having said this, I don't necessarily reject a review bc it didn't cover everything in the guidelines - but if it completely disregards the guidelines then it's often a poor review (with few exceptions like a closed club report or just a really dead club)

I have to agree not all reviews are created equal. My reviews have a tendency to be longer, but not everyone has the time to write a long review.. The objective is to give other guys information they can use to decide if they would want to go to a club. If someone can get that done in one or two paragraphs, then their review should be approved imo.

So Clubber, perhaps you should check your own reviews in search of that diamond that meets the criteria. Those that live in Glass Houses should not be throwing the guideline stones at others!
