What Luker does is get inside the heads of the activists on both sides.
Turns out that for the anti-choice side they always talk about just some growing feeling, and then finally getting involved.
But for the pro-choice side there is always some kind of a conversion experience, some situation they were in when they finally realized that the laws of our society are just completely wrong and that they are designed to oppress women.
And then consider that in the Victorian Era, the first anti-abortion movement, the very same doctors crusading against abortion were the ones developing new surgical techniques for it, writing about it in text books, and teaching about it in classes.
Except for with Roman Catholicism, there has very very rarely been a universal prohibition on abortion. Of the Catholic Church, this seems to get into some of the very deepest schemes for social control, and right to the origins of clerical celibacy.
And then in the Victorian Era, estimated 1 in 5 pregnancies were terminated by these 'delayed menses' herbal remedies.

What the biblical writers were most afraid of was the development of Temple Prostitution, that is, a religious form.
And we know that for as long as there has been agriculture, settled living, and cities, there has been religious prostitution and there have been methods of contraception and abortion. These things were just not widely known.
Of the Catholic Church, you know all the baby Jesus's that they put out at Christmas time? Well the church feeds off of those. Any time you have any contact with any of it, all you have to do is just keep repeating the truth to yourself, "The only reason for any of this is to make more babies to crucify". You just have to keep saying this over and over.
