A troll is someone who only posts to irritate other people and to inhibit reasonable discussion.
The troll will try to start a negative meta narrative. That is, instead of contributing to the conversation they start a conversation about the conversation, by attacking other posters. They are trying to destroy people and to drive them off of the forum.
