A few days ago someone pointed out how if you go on a particular womens board for dancers you'd see a fair amount of what appeared to be locker room talk about what bags of crap men are. As I recall the feline defense of this behaviour had something to do with venting and locker room talk.
Oddly now on this board, which is mostly a male discussion board, comments of equal or from what I can tell lesser venom are suddenly being described as misogynistic. In this age of equality it seems we have a goose/gander, ying/yang double standard being applied
And as far as I know the definition of misogyny is a hatred for women by men. I'm not sure what your definition is or why we would need to wait for you to define it. We have Webster's and years of life on this planet among an English speaking population to help us get it right.
#2: yeah, but i wasnt the one who made that comment so let's refrain from associating the issues i discuss with claims made by others...i did not even make that comment nor discuss it in this post. However, i can tell you that i am no less hesitant to point out the flaws in women as i am in men, as displayed by my "bitches be like posts" and condemnation of those who make jokes about "men being stupid/lazy" etc. This is because although it may me disputed as to what = misogyny, the fact that it exists is certainly undebatable. Therefore, because misogyny is so obvious, i don't need to resort to demeaning men to justify the existence of misogyny lol. Additionally, not only do i not make "men jokes" , I call out others who make them also because I think it is contradictory for women to criticize them being made in fun of while criticizing men.

Secondly I'm not going to go look nor am I disputing your claim but it is relevant unless that is you spoke out in the discussion and disputed what the other women stated on this site, especially if you read the conversation and were online when it was active.
Where I'm coming from and I'm no different than anyone else in this regard is that all of us come here with a lifetime of events and interactions that make us who we are, what we tend believe and how we react to triggers. If you are a male( and for now I'll keep race out of the conversation) it is becoming harder and harder, especially on line it seems not to be called out for having a hatred of something.
I tend to look at the people who come to a community such as this one as having the same mindset of the people who went West in the 1830's --we're certainly not conventional, we certainly are out there compared to the population in total, and we have our quirks but this is as I stated a place for guys to come and blow off steam and if they feel like it brag a bit, share their experiences and hopefully come away with a bit of knowledge or at least a laugh or two.
Somehow I'm missing how this conversation is accomplishing any of the above........and now I am done with my rant as Dennis Miller use to say on the good ole days of SNL.

Telling a joke doesn't = hatred. It might show disrespect... but not hatred or inferiority. Just like Skibum stated.... you can make jokes about jews, whites, catholics (pope jokes), italians, irish, norwegians (sven and ole jokes), , blondes, etc. No out cry, no long rants on forums, no protests, etc. When in fact some of these are protected classes under anti-discrimination laws.
Why is it a tactic to always "play the victim?" I am fat, old, hairy, ugly.... should I start to cry when people pass me walking on the street saying they are making me feel inferior because i am slow... they should slow down.... should I "play the victim" when a place wont turn up the AC because I am sweating while i eat? Should I "play the victim" because i can't get it up like I used too and say people who can shouldn't be bragging about banging 4 times in a day. **** Yes these last comments were made to be jokes... but the sad state that is what many people are doing. If someone doesn't agree with them or they get confronted they pull race, sex, age (yes this happens), cards and try to play the victim. Sometimes very justified... most often than not... No it isn't.
I will take a stab at this and say "nicole" is also very liberal. Which i dont want to get into politics. But look how liberals or many protesting Democrats speak out now a days.... If you dont agree with them you are a "nazi", "facists", "racist", etc. Yet all you did was disagree with them. People on the right also throw out communist and Socialist...... But like i meantioned... i bet she leans more left than right on the political spectrum. Just because misogynist is also a hot button for many liberals now.
Again not trying to get political but just pointing out facts that you can see daily... in news, on forums, on youtube, etc. Look who throws out the terms the most..... people who use ism's or ist's the most. Just saying.
