"Millennials have been choosing to get their main dose of adult entertainment through webcams and other social media that offer a more personalized experience than traditional strip clubs."

Its not more personalized if she's not there.

"The client would put on his VR goggles and watch as she gyrates, seemingly, on his lap in real time."

Seemingly, which is to say, not actually. I try really hard to not tell people that they're having fun wrong, but this is testing that rule.

I remember something like this in the late 90s/early 2000s where an escort service did camming before big cam sites were a thing. Some of the girls were strictly camgirls, while most treated the camming like what this article is talking about, to get guys interested in a real life meeting.

For the personalized thing, maybe it's referring to being able to choose from thousands of camgirls on a cam site compared to a slow night at a strip club where the two or three who happened to show up may not be exactly wet dream material for a particular guy. I don't see a strip club in Omaha, Nebraska setting up cam stations getting around that particular problem, though.

The ideal scenario would be that the dancers could go cam during the slow times, which could make them more likely to come in since they could go work the room for bigger money when there are spending customers in the club.

I have no interest in a VR strip club experience. Clubs that want to try it can go ahead and try it, but I will continue to club the old-fashioned way.

Nothing can replace having a real girl right in front of you in the same exact environment. When you are inside the club, you can actually feel the dancer and she can feel you. With VR, you don't get to feel each other because you are both in different environments.

Gives the term Air Dance a whole new meaning.

On the other hand, if they need a cameraman for these VR sessions I'll be glad to let them pay for my lapdances while I film it.

Most strip club owners are in their 40's, 50's, and 60's. Don't expect too much rapid change per the article. Sounds fine with me. I can bring tech into the club but I'd rather look at or feel the girls there instead of looking at my phone. Everyone might like to know who is working on a particular night but that info can be hard to get. One step up might be an interactive web site that lights up green next to a dances pic when she shows up. Also typical nights worked for each dancer. However most web sites don't even show current pics of their dancers and that seems to change from week to week. I visited a club last weekend and didn't recognize several girls. Made me reluctant to want to go back. One dancer said the club seems to be adding a new rule every day. If all the hot girls left, not good at all.

Many dancers don't like being filmed. I understand the feeling and I'm not even a twenty something.

Millenials, having grown up with technology are uncomfortable in person with others. They want an impersonal experience, without physical intimacy and the ability to see emotion in the eyes of another. Its why I laugh when yahoos on this board talk about opening up a strip club because the increase in millenials and poor people in this country wipe out the entire strip club industry as we know it within 30 years.
