It's true - in many cases. You can find some cheap flights to the Far East - that are cheaper than flying within the USA. Airfare prices don't always increase when the distance of the travel increases. So by that logic - you can go very far -

Not interested in that myself. I plan to be traveling by ground, and then maybe later flying my own airplane.
