You're right Motor, lots of good movies in 1939. But there was also this....
April 30 – Lou Gehrig goes hitless in four at-bats against the Washington Senators and is now hitting just .143 this season. He had just played his 2,130th consecutive major league game. No one knew it would be the very last of his career.
This woman I could never go for. But the idea is interesting.
My former wife was a kind of a history hound, and much of it did have to do with the world's composition due to WWII.
We both commented that with young people today, they know nothing. There is for them no history before MTV started in 1981. And this is why the neo-con movement and the born again movement have been able to do so much harm to our country.
I feel that we do need to come up with new ways of reaching out to these young people and also of educating them as to what our country has already gone through.
So much that is being argued today is simply a rehash of things that I learned about while in elementary school, and yet today the Right is reopening what I thought had been long closed and settled issues.
So yes, history is important to me. And a young hottie who likes high heels and makeup and also reads and tries to understand history would find favor with me.
