Follies Atl day shift

Saturday, February 27, 2016 10:48 AM
I work here as a stripper, if it's not ok for me to start a thread please delete. I would post this on SW but certain subjects seem to get too heated and off topic. So.... about 4 years ago I came through Atl and worked here on night shift. It was great, amazing money, easy, good crowd. Working here this time, I have to work on day shift. I am white and have no interest in night shift crowd. *please note I am not racist, but I don't make money off the crowd that comes in here at night. I tried a couple of shifts this time around, left early, and it's not worth it. Day shift is very good for me but I'm worried it might be changing. I don't know. My problem is I want to stay in Atl at least another 2 years. So,,, a couple questions, for anyone looking to hand out free advice... If you've been to Follies lately, how long do you think it has before it becomes the same as night? Are there clubs that remain like Follies indefinitely, with two completely separate and distinct shifts? It's bizarre how different it is day to night and it seems that night crowd is starting to seep over to day. I'm hoping the change will be gradual and leave me with a year or two, or longer, to work here on day shift. I know a number of the clubs in Atl that are now black used to be primarily white. What are some other clubs in Atl a white girl can work at? It seems like my options are kinda limited to Cheetah, PP, and Mardi Gras. Meh. I wish there were something similar to day shift Follies so that I feel I have a backup plan. Tia for any advice.

Hi missy.preton. There is a mix of customers (mostly customers) and some dancers posting on here from across the country. I believe a few of the regular customers are very familiar with the Atlanta area. I live farther north in South Carolina so I'm not too familiar with Atlanta clubs except from what I've heard.

@Misty, I would guess that you have at least another year of a civil and profitable day shift at Follies (barring local law enforcement messing with the place). The reason that the day shift a Follies is NOT black rap/gang colors is no more complicated than two simple factors. First, the Rap/Gang crowd in ATL is somewhat like vampires - they do not appear when the sun is out. And second, the day crowd at Follies (mixed White, Hispanic and a few Blacks, mixed ages all the way up to Shadowcat at over 70) will keep coming in - and spending money - as long as the dancers keep offering what the customer wants. Sit tight, enjoy the Follies day shift. As far as I know other clubs will not offer you the same revenue opportunities that you are experiencing at Follies. (Locals who club all over ATL can give you better details on the other local clubs)

Thanks for the replies, it's really helpful. I'm making a financial plan based on one more year here. The changes that I have been seeing make me nervous and I want to be prepared.

It's interesting how clubs with the majority girls and customers being blacks are classified as "black clubs" on here. Clubs with the majority of customers and dancers being white aren't classified as "white clubs", they are simply called strip clubs.

Who knows what the future will bring. I don’t live in ATL and have just visited Follies 3 or 4x in the last 2 years; so IDK the club and its history intimately per se – but a few opinions on my part: + seems like Follies has had this M.O. for a good while now so I don’t see why it cannot continue as it’s been + often times once it starts to go black it becomes all-black; whether it’s a neighborhood or strip-club + some on here have mentioned in the past that the way clubs keep it from becoming black is by limiting the # of black dancers – it seems the less black dancers often the less black customers b/c it’s not their scene and thus also the more white customers I would think the club would become mostly black if the owners want it that way (by hiring more and more black dancers on dayshift); IMO.

Now that the OP brought up the subject, there has been a trend that I've noticed during my day shift visits to the mecca...one that I wouldn't mind staying away from.

Welcome to TUSCL Misty. We have a number of members who really like Follies Atlanta. And for myself, I have always preferred day shift at strip clubs. Thank you for joining and posting. Well missy you have the advantage of knowing who I am but I have no idea who you are. Care to PM me? I was at the club all day today. I got dance from black and white girls but did VIP with one of my favorite white girls. I know a lot of Follies customers. Black & white and our biggest fear is that the club gets busted for drug sales and use inside the club. My VIP girl today told me that one of the owners buys coke from the dealers and pays of the Chamblee police. I think she probably has bad information as far as the pay offs goes. Meanwhile I continue to get phone numbers in case it gets busted.

“… I think she probably has bad information as far as the pay offs goes …” Follies does seem to get away w/ way-more than any other SC in ATL AFAIK plus not even enforcing dancer-licenses; would not be far-fetched for Follies’ owners to be “generous supporters” of local LE (probably goes w/ the territory in this kinda of biz); but who knows. Also – are the armed-guards at night off-duty cops or private security – if off-duty cops then more of a reason for LE to be Follies friendly; IMO (since they probably get paid well).

Papi - Just to be clear, the city of Chamblee so far does not require licensing for dancers. The only other club in the area that does not require a license is Club Wax, a bikini black club. They get away with it because of the bikinis.

My main point w.r.t. what Follies gets away w/ is the high-contact on the main-floor and also VIP although there are some other ATL clubs where one can get away w/ stuff in VIP. And they also seem to allow and get away w/ the out in the open drug use.

Whenever the new city of Brookhaven gets around to establishing a permit office, there will be a mass exodus of dancers from Follies. WRT the various types of activities and vices completely out in the open... that is another thing. It doesn't bother me in and of itself, but it gives me pause, so to speak. I have only ever worked at very by-the-book type clubs before.

Missy: I've been a Follies day shift regular for the last 4-5 years (yikes, has it really been that long!?!?). The day shift crowd and clientele hasn't changed that much in that time. You'll be fine--it's not going to morph into the night shift crowd/vibe anytime soon.

Thanks Tim It kinda messed with my head coming back to Atl and seeing the Follies night shift no longer even an option for me. I used to be able to reliably make 7 or 8 a night on that shift. I appreciate the encouragement

missy - Doesn't matter what Brookhaven does. Follies is in the City of Chamblee. I agree that the no license has been a big factor in many new dancers to the club. If they leave Follies because of new licensing, Where would they go? Unless it is out of the Atlanta area they would still have to pay $300 or so for a license.

I would think the main-draw of Follies for dancers is the high # of custies at all times and thus the $$$-potential – and the fact that it being the best game in town for mileage means many custies buy dances and thus spend; i.e. if they just wanna be spectators they can go to a dozen other clubs but they come to Follies for the mileage and thus spend to get-it – and the current no license fee thus help but would not think it's the #1 reason dancers choose Follies.

That's interesting. I honestly had no idea what city we are officially in. When I worked here 4 years back I had to buy a permit at a courthouse off 285... I don't know where all those girls would go. Many actually cannot get a permit, regardless of money, for legal reasons. So the only other option might be escort or cam.

Dear Follies, I miss you. You are the best strip club I've ever experienced. And I've yet to experience you during the NFL season. Follies on NFL Sunday = Godsend

missy up until 2 years ago. Follies, Pink Pony & Oasis and other were all under DeKalb County regulations. Then these new cities started to gobble up real estate. Brookhaven and Chamblee had a fight over who was going to get the taxable real estate. They wanted the Century Business complex on Clairmont Rd but had to takes Follies and the Fiesta Plaza too.

That's interesting shadowcat I didn't know that. Papi, the $$$ potential for Follies is really awesome, for me personally I would rather make this money than work at Cheetah or PP and feel good about myself for being some kind of nice girl. iykwim. The permit thing does factor in heavy for many many girls though. It has something to do with certain types of convictions or outstanding charges etc. Some girls legally can't get one and have to choose between Follies, Wax, or leaving Atl.
