Now I know how strippers feel about $1 tips

I got a letter from my car insurance company(Progressive) a few weeks ago.
I figured it was just my renewal notice(I also get renewal emails and renew online).
I finally opened the letter.
Cover letter:
"We recently discovered that we charged you too much during one of your policy periods. The enclosed draft is reimbursement for that overcharge.
We're sorry for our mistake."
Me thinking yes free money. So the check is on the bottom of the next page. It's for $1 fucking dollar!!!
Suffice to say I'm pissed the banks are closed until Monday.

last commentStick that check into your boxers and you'll feel even more like a stripper.
Yeah – I also recently got a check from Progressive but it was for $2.xx close to 3 bucks.
Almost $3 bucks. I'm jealous! :)
Sign the check and give it as a tip. haha.
Nah, I wouldn't do that, just joking.
I was excited when my 401K went up several thousand during Christmas week. Sad that the increase just put my account back to positive for the year but still happy for the increase. Several thousand will make many people smile even if it's just a number on the computer.
I once did a Nelson survey this past year and got paid maybe 4 bucks. This fall almost every night they had some programs on that I liked on every night. Now, that's why I did the survey, to keep programs on I like. Surprisingly, many of the programs were new. Maybe I was targeted. The 4 bucks was peanuts. My brother got paid $50 he said to do the survey but he was asked for some additional info like what he listened to on the radio as well.
I got about $31 back from Farmers with a similar letter
I got something similar last year. I closed a brokerage account with Fidelity last year and a few months later I received a letter with a short explanation they miscalculated an amount along with a check for eleven cents they spent more on postage to send it to me. BTW I still haven't cashed it
@sharkhunter so you mean nielsen or is this nelson survey something totally different?
Yes, I meant nielsen. I didn't bother to spell check. Close enough I thought.
My father, MANY years ago, kept a federal government check someone cashed at his store. It was for $.01. Sure wish I still had it.
If any strippers feel a $1 tip is beneath them, they can give the tip to me.
2013 IRS refund check: $4.00. Needless to say it's still thumb tacked to the wall.
