I saw a man sitting at the bar at a Detroit strip club last night who looked like George R. R. Martin. An overweight man in his 60's wearing a cap and with a big gray beard.
Martin is the author of the Game of Thrones books on which the popular HBO series is based. I read the 5 books he's finished in the series after seeing an HBO episode and getting hooked. The books are a fantasy based on the Wars of the Roses and featuring sex, violence and dragons.
I doubt that Martin was in Detroit. But the man at the bar looked a lot like him.
No Richard III character yet. There is Tyrion Lannister, the dwarf son of one of the principal houses, but Tyrion is a good person among a lot of bad characters.
When I say "based on the Wars of the Roses", I mean it is a bloody struggle for the throne among noble families. The background and characters are not the same. The land of Westeros, however, resembles the island of Britain.
