BRADENTON, Fla. – According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, three men said they were robbed outside of a strip club in Bradenton.

The three victims reported that they arrived at the DaVinci's Strip club parking lot on Cortez Road West around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday morning. After exiting their vehicle, they said they were attacked by 20 black males, who then allegedly took $700 in cash and a cell phone.

Papi,

When I saw "...the family of two of victims contacted authorities ...", your exact thought came to mind.

Sounds fishy to me too. Most thugs aren't nearly so organized.

That's what, $200 each? Is that even worth it?

Um, no, $700 divided by 20 = $35 each. I've heard worse stories though. Back in the '80s (IIRC), an elderly woman in Duluth, MN was beaten to death by a couple of teenagers for just a few dollars.

The size of the mugging mob is a bit large, yeah. I'd probably believe it more if it was four, maybe five guys, and at least one of them had a gun.

Example of why I've learned to appreciate valet parking. Well worth the cost, for the added security. Navigating dark parking lots, or running the gauntlet of shady individuals can be the worst part of this hobby.

A friend of mine used to be a teacher in New York in the '70s. He tolde that he had been out walking at lunch time when a group of five young punks came up and asked him the time. After Mike told him. The leader said, "Thanks. Now give us your money and your watch."

Mike handed the guy his cheap Timex and the $1.35 that he was carrying. He said he could see the wheels turning as the guy divided by five. The guy then handed everything back and said, "Here, man. You need this worse than we do."

Sounds like the story of a man who said he was robbed of his money in a casino parking lot. The cameras showed no such thing. He lost his money gambling and needed a story for his wife.
This guy had $700 taken from him alright, but it was probably done ITC.
