Jason Jordan had been at the Pink Slip at 114 South 4th Street, and was escorted out of the club at about 4:30 a.m. When police arrived, they say Jordan became agitated and tried to flee. He was handcuffed while authorities waited for an ambulance to arrive.
He became even more agitated and confused when he got to the hospital, police say, and had a 103 degree fever. Jordan later stopped breathing, and though he was initially stabilized, died in intensive care Sunday morning.
Authorities say Jordan tested positive for PCP and Valium-type drugs during his initial hospital screening.
No definitive conclusions have been reached based on an autopsy, but health officials say they have strong reason to suspect "excited delirium" was at play due to Jordan's behavior, elevated body temperature and the drug screen.
The death is under investigation by the Brooklyn Police Department, and a precise cause of death will be determined after additional toxicological and microscopic examinations.
Funeral services for Jordan are pending, police say.
