It will be interesting to see how this plays out. A year of so ago a customer died at the hands of a bouncer at the same club. I think the guy got 2 years or something.
Another incident involving a bouncer at PP in Greenville. I realize that this time it was a bouncer who was killed rather than the patron, but the bouncer put himself in that position by chasing the guy down to his car. PP may need to take a serious look at training these guys in proper protocols. One incident is bad enough, but two starts to look like a pattern.
It doesn't say anything about if the dancer was a ROB. But a guy got killed and shouldn't have plain and simple.
But yes as a bouncer you never let the person leave the club and get into their element (in this case his car). You stop him at the door or before....ie in the vip or ld area.
But again a sad thing that has happened.
From the story I read the bouncer chased him outside the club. Which is exactly the wrong thing to do. Just kick him out and leave it at that. What was he going outside to do? Teach him a lesson?
It's sad to hear that. I agree. Stop people before they leave the club. Then kick them out or call the police in case they have a gun in their car if they left without paying. Better yet, install better security cameras and give their vehicle license information and picture to the police and then let the police arrest him later. I don't know why security cameras can't have high quality video to capture good pics of cars and faces in case a criminal refuses to pay. If the guy got enraged, he could have just as easily taken his gun and gone on a shooting rampage. The police could have quietly arrested him later.
Sorry to hear the news but it sounds like this could happen at any club under similar conditions if you go out to someone's car. Of course I sometimes see club security in the parking lot and escorting dancers in the parking lot so they probably figure it's their right to control their parking lot. Hopefully no one else dies.
How exactly do you guys find someone's face book page and then post comments? I always seem to find the wrong person with the same name. do you have to be signed into face book first? I just wanted to see comments others were posting.
It won't be long before political pressure causes the closing of PP - too bad, but I always found the management here to be arrogant. IMHO The bouncer should have gotten the customer's license number and called in the police rather than going "cowboy" on the guy. Management should have a policy in place about it but obviously they don't (hence the pattern of heavy-handed bouncers). Don't get me wrong, I feel bad for the bouncer's family - I just blame poor management for putting their employees in a bad position.
Unless you are a law enforcement officer, forcibly preventing someone from leaving your property *may* be grounds for some kind of kidnapping or unlawful detainment charge, especially if there's no evidence of a felony.
