I suppose purists of the Stepchild of the Arts would shun this establishment, since the girls wear infinitely more garments than the denizens of the Evil Empire. However, for enthusiasm and audience participation, this club does more than other strip joints. Coyote Ugly employs beautiful bartenders who dance on the bar as their contribution to the entertainment. In fact, the Coyotes are the entertainment. Not only bar dancing and sliding but engrossing body shots participated by staff and fans. Girls wear scanty but decent raiment and each one has a heart of gold beneath her flimsy garb. In addition,the pulchritudinous publicans do a horizontal dance with lucky customers on the pool table. As lead bartendette Otina declaims, If you are squeamish, you don't belong in my bar.
A wonderful New Years Day afternoon spent at this watering hole. For those more traditionally acclimated, walk up (or take the free bus) along the Sixteenth Street Mall, and turn left at Stout Street, for La Boheme, where traditional striptease is accessed by a light rail (oh well, trolley car), the only place where you can find a setting south of Dream Girls on 5th Street in Minneapolis.
