A mother and daughter were arrested Tuesday and both face charges after soliciting two-for-one sex deals on Backpage.com, police said.
Ramona Ramoutar, 43, aka 'Jazmine,' and Daniella Eshtie Sinanan, 24, aka 'Angel,' advertised themselves on the 'south florida escorts' section of the website, according to Boynton Beach police.
It was the second time since July 25 that the pair have been arrested by Boynton Beach police on solicitation of prostitution charges.
According to a probable cause affidavit, neighbors didn't like what was allegedly going on in the 400 block of Savannah Lakes Drive.
Boynton Beach police Traffic Unit officers handled the month-long investigation because the first complaints happened to be made to a traffic officer, police said.
An undercover officer negotiated a phony deal to have sex with both women for $160, police said. The women then terminated the transaction, thinking he might be a cop.
Two Boynton Beach officers went to their apartment anyway, the affidavit said. Both women admitted they were planning to have sex with the caller for money, police said.
Officers found a glass pipe and needles in the apartment, according to a press release.
Ramoutar has seven prior arrests since 1999, according to state records, while Sinanan has three previous arrests since 2011.
Their advertisements were still posted to Backpage.com and other escort sites on Wednesday afternoon.
Anti-human trafficking advocates have long criticized Backpage.com, accusing the web site of facilitating sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
"We don't believe it's a case of human trafficking," police spokeswoman Stephanie Slater said of the arrests. "What this appears to be to us is a case of two people who have a drug addiction and are participating in illicit activity to support their drug activity."
Both remained in custody at the Palm Beach County Jail Wednesday afternoon, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office online booking blotter.

BTW, at least there is some refreshing degree of sanity from the police -- Some people are so quick to scream "trafficking!!" at anything that has to do at all with sex work these days, I'm afraid they'll erode the meaning of the word and the problem.
