A few people mentioned Sheryl Crow on another thread and it reminded me of what I call one past favorite stripper. I obviously view what happened as a mistake, hence the title, but as is also implied there is a certain wistful pleasure associated with that mistake. Do you have one? Share if you wish.
AN, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hijack your thread, I just misunderstood what you were asking. I though you were calling your ATF your "favorite mistake" as a nickname and were asking the rest of us if we had favorite nicknames for our ATF.
But if I may complete my earlier thought, I wanted to call her Holly Golightly after my all-time favorite movie character (played by a very young Audrey Hepburn) in my all-time favorite movie ("Breakfast at Tiffanys") but she'd never heard of it. If you've never seen the movie, Holly Golightly is a young, cute, carefree and whacky girl who seemingly has it all together but who we later discover has a very sad, fearful and vulnerable core that she tries to keep hidden. It's a perfect description of my ATF, and if anyone wants to know what I look for in a club, rent the movie. And have some Kleenex handy - the scene where she kicks Cat (who may be a metaphor for her vulnerability) out of the cab in the rain, then later goes looking for him, is the best ever in my book. It defines "poignant" and I really like poignant.
But to answer the original question, I can't think of a mistake other than the first time I had an "accident" during an LD and discovered to my complete surprise that it was expected.
On the other topic, nicknames, there was one dancer I used to talk to who said her best regular called her Lotta, as in Lotta Fagina. She was definitely an "outie".
Well if that's how you wish to respond who am I to stop a thread hijacking in the first reply. I was however thinking more along the lines of a mistake you're not so sure you'd want to avoid if given the chance to do it over.
If you're asking do I have a favorite nickname for my ATF, the answer is yes. I always called her FunnyGirl. Because she was always so amusing and in a devilish way. I once wrote a poem about her that included my favorite line, "An angel on a pedestal or the devil in disguise, I was never really sure, both lurk deep within her eyes." That describes her perfectly. I quit writing poetry after that because I didn't think I could ever write a better line than that one.
