LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Paramount man who was driving a car that crashed into two men standing outside a Los Angeles strip club, which caused them to lose their legs, pleaded no contest Wednesday to a drunken driving charge.
Terrence Conrad Meeks, 40, slammed his BMW into the victims, pinning them against a parked Mini Cooper, early March 10 after leaving the Sam's Hofbrau club at Olympic Boulevard and McGarry Street.
One of the men had both legs severed below the knee. The other had to have his right leg amputated.
Meeks faces five years and four months in prison when he's sentenced in July, according to Deputy District Attorney Nick Swertlow.
Comments
I remember hearing about this sad story back in March. Black guy in Beemer makes racist comments to two Hispanic men, then rams them with his car. Hate crime, manslaughter, and DUI. One guy loses both legs and the second guy loses one of his legs.
Five years and four months is pretty damn lenient.
