Here is a strip club that is only open 3 months out of the year. Weird!

This place really surprised me. I'm used to strip clubs in my town but nothing compares to this place. The bar is only open 3 months out of the year, and that is during Pheasant season which opened this past weekend. I calculated the bar must be making $15k a night during the hype of this season, maybe more. The bar is a whole-in-the-wall place in the middle of BFV in the country (so is the place next door) but it is kept rather clean so it didn't feel dirty in there. The food was good, esp the sirloin tips (which is not listed on the menu). The bar/club is split into two sections or areas-the bar/dining area is in the front half of the building with a pool table, foosball table and a jukebox. The back half is the club part where the girls dance. You can't get to the back half unless you walk down a little hallway paying a $15.00 nightly cover charge to get through. Both parts of the building are not that big. Girls do tend to travel between the two sections but are always clothed in the front half. The club section in the back has a main center stage (U shape) with a spinning pole and a rafter above it. There is also a side stage with a stationary pole. The ceiling is arched-kind of reminded me of a barn. The stage is small and seats about 12 people around the U shape. There is a private dance room area for the private dances that is sectioned off by a drape. The bar likes to give change out in $2 bills (when they have them) so the customers tip the dancers $2 bills and not singles which is kind of cool. Dancers work there only if they are asked, worked there before, have connections or some other means. They do not let any girl come in off the sreet to work. This doesn't mean they only have the hottest girls (to be honest a few of the girls were not hot) but this does allow them to have a selection of different girls and ones they like or ones that others like or want to give a try to to make someone happy. The girls start dancing around 3 pm and start with clothes on but finish nude in the last song. Girls there pretty much have to dance nude to compete with the other girls who do dance nude. The stage is always packed with tipping customers. Very rarely do they not tip. The place fills up with hunters, ranchers, farmers, etc, who come there to SPEND money, not to sit around and just watch. And many of the customers have lots of money to spend, some are wealthy, but you would never guess it by looking at the place or the customers-others are just down-home country boys, ranchhands, etc. Girls always make money on the main stage and even a bit on the side stage. Dances are $40 each, 3 for $100 and half hours are $280. Kind of steep for a dive bar but the guys there pay it like crazy. Private dances are all pretty much nude too as girls can't compete if they don't go nude. The customers are mixed in age, from the 20's to the 50's, but mostly an older crowd. It is a country feel to the place for sure. Some of the girls there get pretty wild or raunchy on the stage. Since it's nude, some girls will get their cooter right in the guy's face at the stage, even spreading their lips apart. I saw a girl grabbing guys heads at the stage and pushing them down her panties to her cooter. Another girl was air-blowing guys through their pants at the stage while she was dancing. Another girl was letting guys bite and suck on her nipples at the stage. Pretty much anyting goes there I guess. I can only imagine what goes on in the back. There is so much money in the place you would never believe it. I'm a guy and I was a little digusted with some of the things I saw, who knows how many diseases/germs some of those girls have and are spreading around. Not all of the girls are like that tho, only some of them. The back club room gets so packed you can't walk through without being shoulder to shoulder with everyone. Girls get their ass, cooter and boobs groped like crazy as they walk through. Girls there get asked to go back to hotel rooms with the guys, some of which are offered thousands of dollars to do so by wealthy ranchers, oil men, sport hunters etc. If a girl is strong enough to handle the place (she will still have to tolerate and prob do more than she wants or is used to) or she is willing to be skanky, she can easily make a grand a night. Some of these hunters stay weeks or months as they have the money to do so leaving once Pheasant season is over, 3 months later. The staff there is pretty cool and nice.

You had to watch Discovery Channel to find out about this? Way to stay up on your current (not really current) events.

    Interesting read though.

I haven't been to SD for pheasant season but have heard about it for years. Those girls and the club are for sure making hay while the sun shines.

I know guys who have purchased fair sized farms/ranches just so they will have a place to hunt pheasants. Those guys have a massive amount of disposable income and are a long way from home. I have also heard the escorts work long hours during the same time period.

Well despite what you believe, most of the oil and gas in SD is located in the Western parts. This club appears to be located in the East where the active mining is rare.

Just a bit of fact checking here. The current boom in the US is all about oil, not nat gas. It is happening in western North Dakota and eastern Montana, very little by comparison, in South Dakota. The Bakken field, as this play is called, extends north into southern Saskatchewan in Canada. My own little oil play in south-eastern Alberta is an attempt to expand the boundaries of the Bakken field. So far, specific gravity tests and chemical analyses suggest that this a possibility. Production in the Bakken is increasing faster than pipeline capacity allows for refinery delivery. The producers of the crude are ferrying the excess product daily to the Chicago-area refineries in thousands of rail tanker cars.

As an aside, we in the industry rarely use the term - 'hydro-fracking'. For the length of my long career in the oil patch, the term has simply been - 'fracing'.

Looking at the map of South Dakota, Dallas is in the south central part of South Dakota, close to Nebraska. Technically, it is part of West River, the generic term for the part of South Dakota west of the Missouri. I think this is the part of South Dakota my brother (who kept his redneck genes intact) goes hunting, which is probably for pheasant when he goes there. There isn't oil in that part of South Dakota, AFAIK. I've been to the one club in Lesterville, which is quite a bit east of there, during pheasant season and that place can be remarkably crowded for a small town in South Dakota.

As for the only open 3 months a year part, that doesn't surprise me. It's not just off the interstate, so the only time people go there is probably for pheasant hunting season. OTOH, the bar is probably open as a regular bar the rest of the time.

Ah yes, nothing like horny hunters. Up here during deer seasons, this one hole in the wall strip club in Northern Michigan is packed to the gills and then some during hunting season.
