Jason Aldean's New Album Includes a Song About a Stripper

“There's not many country artists that tackle the subject matter of a stripper, to put it bluntly,” he says.
Jason Aldean's new album, Night Train, is out today (Oct. 16), and it's leaving the station with some unique songs.

Jason scored a No. 1 hit with lead single "Take a Little Ride," but deeper into the album, there's "The Only Way I Know," a song with Eric Church and Luke Bryan, and another rap-influenced song, "1994," a humorous tribute to Joe Diffie.

Then there's "Black Tears," the story of a stripper dealing with the toll of her job.

"I'm drawn to songs that are a little different," Jason told reporters recently.

"There's not many country artists that tackle the subject matter of a stripper, to put it bluntly, which is one of the things I loved about it," he said.

"I also think this song is probably one of the most well-written songs on the record. Hopefully, people that are kind of conservative when it comes to music and country music will hopefully look past the subject matter and look at the song and listen to the lyrics of what the song's saying."

Written by Tyler Hubbard, one-half of "Cruise" duo Florida Georgia Line, and singer/songwriter Canaan Smith, the song came to life during Canaan's college years at Nashville's Belmont University. "I wrote this song with Tyler one day back in college at Belmont," he said in a statement. "I never thought it would be cut by someone as great as Jason Aldean. I think he did a killer job."
