Four men entered a New Jersey strip club midday Thursday and pistol-whipped the manager before robbing the business of cash and jewelry, police said.
The armed men walked into the Taboo Men's Club in Linden shortly after noon and attacked the manager, forcing him into another room to open a safe, according to Detective Lt. James Sarnicki.
They took several thousand dollars in cash, as well as jewelry. About eight to 10 employees and customers were also in the club at the time, and they were herded into a bathroom.
Meanwhile, heavily armed officers arrived at the club and surrounded it. The officers entered the club and evacuated the building before searching for the robbers.
But the suspects had apparently fled. Police are now looking for four men in two cars.
I'm honestly surprised this doesn't happen more often. Close at 2AM, no banks open... I bet a lot of places just stick cash in the safe till the next day.
Not to mention all the more nefarious reasons a club would keep large amounts of cash on hand.
About a year ago there was a string of armed robberies where a gang hit several strip clubs in the Detroit area.
The perps were eventually caught but yikes, that scares me. Hope it's not a trend. Especially in upscale clubs most customers could be carrying a lot of cash

I always assumed club owners were "connected" in a way that it would be very stupid to rob them. But maybe that's just in the movies.
