Stiletto Brothel Expansion Proposal Rejected By Sydney City Council

Plans to supersize a brothel were scuttled by the city council in Sydney, Australia, but it wasn't the bordello's business that politicians found objectionable.
In argument familiar to battles over big box stores like Walmart, the members of the city council claimed on Monday the mega-brothel might squash smaller mom-and-pop cathouses.
From AFP:
Sydney's city council has voted down plans for a mega-brothel featuring rooms with multiple beds and pool tables, likening the development to a super-sized shopping mall that would threaten competition.
The proposed extension to Stiletto would have doubled the number of rooms to 40 and would have created a wing for group bookings, according to AFP.
ABC.net in Australia, reports that councillor Shayne Mallard described the proposal as the "Westfield of brothels," referring to the country's largest shopping mall chain.
The Telegraph reports that Mallard also made clear the city council wasn't against prostitution, per se.
"We're not prudes, we're not opposed to brothels, but we have a policy of anti-clustering, spreading them out," Mallard said.
Stiletto's NSFW site explains that "Stiletto's signature concept mixtures [sic] exclusive style with sex and theatre, giving you the most erotic experience in Sydney."
