U.S. Customs officers at John F. Kennedy International Airport have seized more than 19,900 counterfeit Viagra pills.
Airport officials say they selected a cargo shipment from Hong Kong for examination and found the stash of pills worth approximately $220,000.
The counterfeit Viagra and other erectile dysfunction pills were seized due to trademark and Food and Drug Administration violations.
The fake Viagra trade has expanded dramatically in the last decade.
Health officials warn that with counterfeit medications, consumers do not know what they may be taking, and that can pose a significant health danger.
