Jackson County Magistrate Frederick Bishop arraigned David Lee Allan, 50, on Wednesday on one court of blackmail, according to court records.
His 28-year-old daughter, Jennifer Lee Allan of Blackman Township, was arraigned last Thursday by District Judge Joseph Filip on the same charge.
Both were lodged at the Jackson County Jail as of Wednesday night.
Detective Robert Shrock said Jennifer Allan met a man at Dr. Don's Famous Door, 146 W. Michigan Ave., where she was working, and the two had sex Dec. 17 at Motel 6, 830 Royal Drive.
Later, Jennifer Allan called the man on his cell phone and demanded he return or she would call the police and falsely accuse him of rape, according to the township public safety department.
Ultimately, she demanded “several thousand dollars in cash†that the man gave her, according to a statement. Shrock declined to give a specific amount.
David Allan is accused of assisting his daughter. He acted as “a middleman,†Shrock said. He allegedly made contact with the victim, Shrock said.
On Wednesday, Detective Sgt. Chris Boulter said the department may have identified at least one additional victim of the extortion. A similar case was also reported to the Michigan State Police Jackson post and may be linked, Boulter said. Detectives intend to follow up Thursday.
Through the course of an investigation, additional documents were uncovered leading investigators to believe there are more victims in and around Jackson County. They might be fearful of speaking with law enforcement authorities but should call the department at 788-4223, according to the statement.
Jennifer Allan is being held on a $25,000 bond. She pleaded guilty to retail fraud in 2004, according to court records.
David Allan, who is on parole, has a $250,000 bond. He was paroled from prison in May 2008 after serving two years and six months for a fraud conviction from 2005, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections. He had been to prison before, including a manslaughter conviction in 1985. He served four years.
On Dec. 15, 1984, Allan's car collided head-on with a car driven by Karen Gauntlett, who owned a bed-and-breakfast in Horton. She died at the scene. Prosecutors alleged Allan was drunk when he hit and killed Gauntlett. A jury found him guilty of manslaughter.

Just a couple examples of the quality people you can meet at a strip club, lol.
Speaking of Red Roof, they had a promo 6 months ago about a select number of rooms per place available for $1 a night. Don't know how successful it was, but I'm guessing PIMPS-R-US saw it as a way to drive down their overhead costs...
Having said this, since I almost always control my space I have built in some safeguards. My hotels are always nice and never "drive up" rooms, so there is little chance of me being ambushed or surprised in my room. It also means that she leaves when it is done rather than the other way around.
