St. Pete prostitution sting nets 6

ST. PETERSBURG - Six people were arrested in a sting operation Wednesday on prostitution solicitation charges.

The men were all taken into custody after offering money in exchange for sex acts to a female undercover officer in the area of 16th Avenue North and 34th Street, police say.

Arrested were James Green, 44; Terry Lunsford, 51; Anton Smith, 42; Hung Ly, 41; John Bragg, 82; and George Maldonado, 46. Five of the men had their cars impounded for using them during the act of solicitation, according to officers.

The St. Petersburg Police Department has been working to curb prostitution in this general area over the last several months and have conducted several such operations.
