LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 43 years to life in prison for the May 2005 slaying of a North Las Vegas strip club doorman.
Clark County District Judge Valerie Adair handed down the sentence Thursday to Deangelo Carroll, who was convicted by a jury in May of first-degree murder for the shooting death of 44-year-old Timothy Hadland.
Hadland's body was found near Lake Mead, with printed fliers from the Palomino strip club.
Carroll was convicted of acting for then-club owner Luis Hidalgo Jr., who wanted Hadland dead for speaking badly about the club to cabdrivers.
Carroll was convicted of recruiting gunman Kenneth Counts, who's serving eight to 20 years for conspiracy to commit murder.
Hidalgo and his son, Luis Hidalgo III, also were convicted.
