FAST FACTS:
Car crashes through front of Platinum Rose strip club
Police say driver was drunk
No one injured
(Memphis 4/7/2010) An out of control car slammed into a strip club early Wednesday morning.
It happened at the Platinum Rose on South Third, Near Raines Road in south Memphis and police say alcohol was involved.
"I'm in my car and I notice it coming back in this area over the hump and I was like damn someone is crazy," said Tashe Disroe.
Disroe's a former dancer at Platinum Rose and was sitting in her car in the parking lot, when she saw a blue Mustang driving out control.
She says the driver went right over a concrete parking bumper and plowed through the front of the club, "Once it went over the hump it speeded up and rammed into the doors. I was scared as Hell because I'm thinking, like, was somebody trying to kill somebody. I didn't know what was going on."
Disroe says that's when she saw a female employee get out of that car.
Police say the driver, who was drunk at the time, was trying out another employee's car.
They say she was first on the street and then on the parking lot, and apparently did not know how to use the stick shift.
The manager of the club says there were people inside the lobby area when the car crashed through the doors. Luckily, everyone was able to get out of the way and no one was hurt.
No one in the car was hurt either, but the female driver was arrested for driving drunk.
Police say the owner of the Mustang, who was also in the car when it crashed, could be charged with the same thing.
"It's is against the law to allow an intoxicated person to knowingly drive your vehicle," said Lt. Col. McClain.
Employees spent much of the morning cleaning up the mess and say it may take a while to repair the damage.
The club will be open for business Wednesday night.
The name of the driver has not been released.
