Rick's Cabaret NYC Joins the U.S. Marines to Gather "Toys for Tots" on December

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Rick's Cabaret in New York City, a part of the publicly traded upscale chain, Rick's Cabaret International, Inc. (NASDAQ: RICK - News), joins with the U.S. Marines Corps Reserve to gather “Toys for Tots” on December 15th.

Anyone bringing an unwrapped toy to donate to the “Toys for Tots” program will be admitted free to the club at 50 West 33rd Street across from the Empire State Building. The donors will be invited to a party from 6pm-8pm on December 15th, complete with beautiful entertainers, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and discounted drink prices.

“It's the second year we've partnered with the Marines to give back to the community,” says Ed Anakar, director of operations for Rick's Cabaret, which operates 18 gentlemen's clubs across the country. “Last year we collected enough toys to fill one large truck and one van, and we were told by the Marines this made up a significant part of the 90,000 toys collected in New York City.”

“The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted,” according to the program website.

Rick's Cabaret New York City, which opened in 2005, was chosen this year as the “best strip club in New York” by Playboy.com and its general manager, Ken Sistrunk, was named “General Manager of the Year” among all of the heads of nation's 3,800 strip clubs at the Gentlemen's Club Expo in Las Vegas.

It seems like Columbus Gold here is also doing a similar promotion that if you bring in 2 cans of food they will admit you for free. I am not sure on the details or if it is only for daytime cover. One of the reasons Cols Gold charges $12 at night is because of the feature dancer.

Also this seems like a business move. The young men in the marines are potential customers. I know a military guy who said he hates seeing those payday advance places because they build up around military bases and take advantage of the young recruits. I'm sure those young recruits using those payday advance centers are also the potential strip club PLs Rick's is looking for.
