Club Alex's has been my favorite...

Club Alex's has been my favorite casual "drop-in" club for a long time; its the best venue this side of Providence. What I like most is the dancers and customers mingle in close proximity here, the dancers are not on a distant remote stage as at the nearby Foxy Lady. The downside is that your clothing picks up some of that cheap stripper scent, so make friends with a discreet dry cleaner.

After numerous visits, I can only conclude that the club is going downhill fast. They used to have some great dancers who have either moved on or lost their passion for dancing (Julia comes to mind). I recently got ripped off by an older Brazilian who apparently could only count songs in twos, and a newish Russian who stopped half way through a song because she had to go on stage. When I pointed this out, she agreed, but still demanded her $20. The champagne room is a rip-off: about $170 for 15 minutes. That works out at about $680 per hour. For that price, you could do two hours in Foxy Lady's champagne rooms or, if you were so inclined, spend two hours with an escort or four hours on erotic massage. You don't have to be a professional economist to figure it out.
