Browns is one of the old...
Browns is one of the old classics of the area, and deservedly has a good reputation of somewhere to go for a great night out. At the top of Shoreditch High St., it is a fair trek from the city, but it is worth it if you're looking for a more up-scale night out that won't break the bank.
The venue is much like a regular pub, with a bar along one wall, a stage at the front and a few tables along the back wall, leaving most of the floor space as standing room. The drinks are reasonably priced, and there doesn't seem to ever be a cover charge to get in. The place is reasonably clean, and well maintained - so thumbs up for the venue.
The real draw that Brown's has always had is the girls. When I used to come here years ago, the girls were all knockouts, even the ones working the 'dead' shifts. Perhaps it is just my memory playing tricks, but it seems to me that the quality of dancer isn't the same as it used to be. While the girls always used to be 9 and 10's, the last few times I've been here, the girls have mostly been in the 7-8 range, although there is usually still the odd stunner. There doesn't seem to be much variation either – and almost all the girls are now white Europeans.
