On a road trip, we decided to stop at The Furnace in Birmingham. The club itself is near the highway, in an industrial area. We were greeted by a very polite and friendly doorman, and paid a 10$ cover to get in.

The Furnace is extremely well maintained for a strip. In the words of my associate, it, "Looks like something out of a Poison video". The dancers probably averaged 7 to 8. Most were quite attractive, but there was a obviously a range of talent.

However, something about the Furnace was incredibly offputting. We had a single drink and left without buying any dances, although we were approached by a few dancers who were relatively polite with us when we said we didn't want any dances. The place is trying far too hard to be upscale, thus it really complete lacks any strip club sort of charm. Being seedy guys, we felt it was not the place for us.
