After a business meeting with about an hour to spare, I had time to check out Pumptown. As expected it was very blue collar with 3 dancers and about 12 customers. It is a small club and dark with minimum furnisings, but that was in no ways a turnoff. However, everyone seemed to know everyone else and I felt somewhat out of place. The ladies were adequate and some showed everything on stage. Their circulation for tips was typical and not overly pushy.

I asked about a private dance, but the proposed one at a table didn't seem likely to be very erotic. Without any idea of what to expect in a basement area reached by a dark staircase, I had no interest. Without time to have enough beers to overcome any inhibitions and my reluctance to investigate further, I left after about one half hour. As the old western song goes " You're looking better with every beer", but I didn't get there. Drinks were reasonable, I've forgotten the exact

price. No one was unfriendly and perhaps if I had stayed longer I would have become more comfortable.
