Stormy Wednesday
Stopped in around 1:30 on a Wednesday afternoon, not expecting to stay long but hoping there would be someone fun there to pick off pretty quickly. As I walked in the lights were on, but as soon as I got past the front desk lights out, music on. Parked in the ample parking to the side of the building, no cover charge before 7:00, $6 for a Miller Lite.
There was one girl filling out paperwork in street clothes as I settled in (future talent I assume) a bartender and eventually 2 other patrons, but no signs of any dancer as I was halfway through my beer. About halfway through the third song a dancer comes out from the back and rushed onto the stage (why dance an entire song for 3 people when you can dance 1/2?) I didn’t recognize her at first, but it was the all time great Storm (apparently her break was more of a hiatus than retirement).
She came around after her set, recognized me from WAY back, and apologized for being the only dancer dressed. Of course there was also two way contact, so even though one of the other guys had a drink waiting for her (sorry man!) I quickly accepted her offer of dances while I was there - why wait when I have to go soon and she’s right next to me? Went to the communal room (since there was literally no one else around) and before I was even totally situated she had a cover unwrapped which quickly went on and became Piano Man without even really discussing anything. Tipped 40 (she appreciated) and was out the door feeling good, within my timeframe. Didn’t see another dancer, didn’t much care.
