This club has closed as "Tommy's"...
This club has closed as "Tommy's" and reopened as "Glimmers." From the same folks as "Shimmers." The new owners has fixed the place up quite a bit. Nice improvement over what it was. Same dancers as Shimmers which is also quite an improvement. New owners already have 2 HDTVs. (Last owner took months to get one crappy small TV.) Walls have been painted purple, charcoal, or black (can't tell) which is unusual since it's already a dark club. Same basic layout as before, but things have definitely been cleaned up quite a bit. It's a welcome change. If you've ever been in the club, you know that it's a small neighborhood tavern unlike the larger Shimmers or the Rose City Strip across the street. Lottery machines were powered off, but I suspect they'll be on soon.
I was there during the shift change at 4pm and there seemed to be at least three dancers on both the day shift and the swing shift. There's definitely some business already (club has been open less than one week). I was there less than an hour and saw three private dances. Private dance area is somewhat dim lighting, but still is quite open to the main part of the club so you know there won't be any funny business going on. Since they have the same dancers as Shimmers, you pretty much know what to expect on stage and in the private dances.
I've been going to this club on and off for 20 years and I feel this is a welcome change overall.
