In the area (No. of Tampa)...

In the area (No. of Tampa) and TUSCL reviews indicated Players to be the best of a limited # of clubs so I stopped in about 11PM on a Fri. night. First, the club is a storefront in an old strip-retail building, next to a meat market (for real!). Interior is small, run down, 90's SC with a padded bench on 2 walls, a bar with 8 or 10 vinyl top stools, a dozen tables with steel/vinyl chairs and a too small-too low stripper stage. Later I saw the VIP area which consisted of 8 tiny booths with floor to ceiling walls, a padded bench and a thick black privacy curtain in each one. Lights were brighter than usual for SCs. When I was there a sign out front said "no cover and $2 longnecks" and they didn't ask for a cover (but did require ID and a sign-in). My 1st beer cost $3 (I guess the bartender hadn't read the sign.)

After sitting down at the bar I looked at the talent and the room. Only 8 customers, including a group of 3 men clearly there only for the beer, and about 12 - 15 girls. I am guessing, but even for a small town that's got to be a really poor turnout, especially on a Fri night. The girl who was dancing when I walked in finished her set (3 dances, nude by halfway through the 2nd song) and stepped off to kiss (cheek) the 2 who tipped her then put her dress on and walked over to ask me if she could join me (sure, have a seat). After watching a fair selection of the dancers (5 dancers, 3 shortened songs each) I figured out the lady who joined me was about as good as it got at Players. She rates a strong 7 at about 23yo, 5'4', brown hair, natural B cup and a flat tummy (in spite of the 2yo girl she mentioned in her stripper littany). The other dancers rated from a 4 (tall blond 6 mo preggers and still trying to support a drug habit) up to several 7, most with tats. I did note that dancers coming off stage and out of VIP were not in a hurry to put clothes back on so that at any time there might be up to 4 or 5 nude girls walking around the room. Most of the dancers didn't bother to wear panties so even when "dressed" they were quick to flash a little coochy.

I took "my" girl back to VIP for a $30 dance, which was very hands on though a bit mechanical. Still, she tried and offered BBBJ for an extra $50. She also explained that other services were available, but I declined. I did note later that a few of the other dancers had a menu of available services but several stuck with dances only.

Overall, I would say that Players is worth the trip if you are in the area. It is a bit pricey for a small town club, but you are likely to get more private attention than other small town clubs I've been in (of course - ymmv).
