I went into Camelot on a Tuesday night at about 8 PM. The doorman called “On coming in” on his radio as I entered – which seemed pretty strange to me. Inside the club was clean and very high class looking. There was dark woodwork and the tables had tablecloths. I walked through the narrow downstairs bar, with a small stage on the left, and up stairs to another narrow room with a second bar and a slightly darker area set up like restaurant dining tables. Here there is another small stage. Both stages are not just small but short – couldn’t be much more than 6 feet floor to ceiling and eight feet in diameter. There is a center pole but the girls couldn’t climb it, just sort of sway around.

The dancers were very pretty – in the 8-9 range. But their attitude was very distant and you could not call anything ‘hot’ about the place. I ordered a gin and tonic with Bombay and paid $11.50 – the cover was free but they made it up quick. I watched five girls dance, all nude and beautiful, and still felt bored by the atmosphere. There were a couple of obvious regulars eating dinner with dancers when I arrived. A few groups of guys showed up while I sat around – the dancers didn’t pay attention to them either! The strip club feel was just missing. I’ll try someplace else next time.
