There’s little I can add to the many write-ups this place has received, but since I was on a road trip to D.C., I thought I’d better make my first visit here before its imminent demise.
Given the club’s fairly isolated location and what’s inside, I got a very similar vibe to the clubs outside of Montreal. It took me a while to get used to the darkness inside as the bouncer took my $5 cover. I was also politely reminded that the club was BYOB, but was pleasantly surprised by the free Diet Cokes.
The club has two stages. The larger L-shaped stage went unused during the day, and what little dancing there was took place on a smaller rectangular stage surrounded by the bar. The infamous tents are in the back of the club.
