I've read a lot about this...
I've read a lot about this club and Jet Strip. I thought JS was overrated, too, when I saw it. BE is a big place, has many of the gentlemens club touches and is generally decent, but wasn't lights out in any particular area. Only had one stage going when I was there and the energy was so-so. Very impersonal kind of place. I don't need dancers crawling all over me to having some breathing room is no big deal, but I get the sense this club needs to be crowded to really have the show make an impression. 4Play, Scores, and Sin were all nicer in the decor department, and the girls didn't necessarily light up the night either.
Did get some dances here, and they were decent enough but nothing to write home about. Even better, I either misheard the dancer or had a price switcheroo on me. Again, it was a pretty decent in the booth with the European blonde so I wasn't annoyed about the price (you pay at the bar afterward) until the little brunette bartender goes apeshit. I mention to her that the price she's quoting isn't what I heard from the dancer and she jumps from defensive to cunning stunt in about two seconds. Not cool, but there's always another club.
I don't know if she was expecting an argument or what the beef was, but I wound up setting down what I owed, smiling, and taking my seat again so I can kill my drink before hitting the road. She seemed polite enough on the way out. Maybe the girl has tourettes or something. The main idea here is that there are better clubs in the LA area for just about everything. It was a Sunday, so take the lackluster showing with that in mind. It's still getting a decent rating and people are singing its praises, it's just not a place I'll be eager to see again.
