I was a guitarist who worked in several live bands (Fanatics, Gangster, Ice Age) who used to perform at the Hangar Club during their shows. Since the drinking age in Maryland was raised to 21, Nick Simonetta (the owner and MC) stopped hiring live bands and instead went with a DJ, which was a smart business move. I can assure the readers that these guys were all straight hetero, as were the bands. I loved working at this club as a musician because my job was a party that lasted 6 nights a week and I was surrounded with 150 ladies a night. What better job could I ask for? I know for a fact that the ladies had a great time and came back again and again. The dancers did kiss a line of waiting ladies, but used disinfectant mouthwash back stage. Don't know if they still do it. The dancers were available for private parties, and it was their own private business as to how far they were willing to go. Prices were reasonable, and the show was in two parts lasting a few hours. Guys were kept at the bar during the show, leaving the club filled with women, the guy dancers and the band. All in all a fun time.
