visited last week from 8 to...

visited last week from 8 to 10. Same cover -$10 (5 with net coupon)and cheap drinks ($2 for juice)

The first two dancers each danced four songs on the little stage in front. It was laid back and kind of pleasant. Suddenly at 8:30 the DJ turned on the sound system to a ridiculous level that made the fillings in ones teeth vibrate. I got up and walked around to try to find a dead spot but to no avail. I talked to a male staff member who told me that he was standing where he was to be in a less noisey spot. (I couldn't tell the difference.)

I even spoke to the DJ asking if he could turn down the base in one area where nobody was sitting. He said it was as low as it would go; he suggested another area where he said the sound was lower (it wasn't). I stayed to watch Andi Sue Irwin's show at 9:30 and then had to leave to get away from the noise. I thought it poetic that there were 4 deaf girls there who had come in together and enjoyed Ms. Irwin's show (her show was okay). I couldn't really enjoy my time there but the dancers generally were young and pretty, dancing in pairs on each of the two stages, usually for 2 songs. I've been here before and liked it, but maybe this was the last time simply because of the sound volumn. Maybe I could go back if I wore ear protection and was willing to put up with the vibration. I went over to the Golden Horseshoe as the evening was still young.
