Club is in a seedy neighborhood, but it appears quite safe. Free parking in a lighted area, and a uniformed security guard at the entrance. Twenty dollar cover at 11:30 pm. No pat-down or wristband. All dancers and employees and about 95% of the customers appeared to be African-American. I woud estimate there were around 150 customers in the large room An attractive young woman found me a good seat, and did not act like I should tip her. Shortly after she departed, another attractive young woman came by and asked me if I wanted to buy a drink. I said, "yes I will have a beer if you sell beer." She said they did not sell any alcoholic beverages. I passed on a drink, and she courteously departed without further comment. If there were bouncers in the room, they were all wearing civilian clothes - no tuxes. There was a DJ chattering away in a strongly accented voice. Most of what he said was unintelligible except for the word "motherfucker". Lighting was medium -- seemed about right for the activity going on.

On stage were two attractive black dancers in bikinis. Doing the gyrations - legs in air, simulated doggie-style writhing, etc. No pole dancing. I never saw any dancer on or off stage take off a single bit of clothing. I was never approached by any dancer to "keep me company" or buy her a drink, or buy her a lap dance, or to go to the Private area with her. I noticed several dancers giving personal dances to different guys around the room Most of them were dressed in bikinis like the ones on stage, but one was topless. That seemed odd. One thing that struck me about the personal dances was there was NO TOUCHING. That is a real turnoff to me. I noticed a big sign posted in the entry area. It said, "Latex and full bottoms REQUIREDd at all times." It appeared the girls were all wearing double bottoms. The girls varied from slim to chubby, but after being in the club for about 20 minutes without being approaced by any dancer for any reason I left.

Harlem Knights was a big disappointment to me, and I would never return unless I read something on this board to indicate they had changed their mode of operation. It is listed as a black nude bar. Black: YES. Nude: NO. Topless: NO. (In view of the sign I saw, I believe the one topless girl I saw had latex covering over her nipples but I was too far away to tell for sure.) Whatever, the club is currently not operating in the mode described in the official listing. This might be temporary, due to a police crackdown, or it might be permanent. I have heard rumors that Houston is cracking down on nudity and extras. And this might be temporary. I would not recommend a visit to this club, but I hope someone will check it out again in the near future and report if conditions have changed.
