I hadn't been in the RP...

I hadn't been in the RP for a while, and tonight's visit reminded me why. First though, the good: a very laid-back attitude and biggest bang-for-a-buck in the 3 or 4 places I've been to in DC. The smoking ban has really cleared the air, so I don't stink like an ashtray when I leave. The bar has been remodeled a little bit since I was last there - its a bit brighter, they may have put in a new floor, and the men's room is no longer 1960s vintage. They moved the tables back from the bigger stage so they tend to block traffic a little more. Now, the bad: the girls are (all) a lot thick. I like a little more variety and a petite girl now and then, but there were only 2 working on a Friday evening after work that were even below-average in weight. Their average age was probably in the late 20s, with a wide range from 19 (maybe) to going on 40. A wide variety of ethnic types in both the dancers and the customers. Got a much harder sell there than I used to - one waitress insisted that I needed to have a $6.50 beer in front of me the whole time. Had I known that, I'd have nursed the one I had a lot longer...

So my overall impression - if you want a cheap, laid-back place that's near the metro head for the RP. If you want lookers, look elsewhere. And being DC, if you want a lap, go to Baltimore!
